Unveiled during the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the eagerly awaited second generation Acura NSX was devoured by consumers. Loosely based on the Honda HSV-010 GT race car (Japanese Super GT Championship), the new Acura NSX would be engineered and designed in the United States. Made from aluminum, carbon-fiber and ultra-high-strength steel, the Acura NSX is more lightweight and rigid than its predecessor. The Acura NSX body utilizes an innovative spaceframe design which perfectly complements the high-performance hybrid powertrain.
Speaking of the powertrain; the new Acura NSX is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.5-liter engine and a trio of electric motors. Mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, this combination is capable of generating 573hp and 476 lb.-ft. of torque. In stock trim, the all-wheel drive Acura NSX can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.2-seconds at 124 mph. The new Acura NSX tips the scale at 3,878-pounds and has an electronically controlled top speed of 191 mph. As expected, the new Acura NSX has proven to be the most capable Acura/Honda production model yet.
